What I had done changed the course of history and humanity – at a great expense.

I gazed at the forest of checkered – blue shirts and informal jeans with my observant gaze, occasionally moving to and fro, curiously observing the enthusiasm.

With a creaking noise of interlocking gears, an advance was made towards a solitary ‘tree’ of this ‘forest’. A burden of infinitesimal value was lifted as a pair of creamish ‘branches’ lifted an object off my noggin – pulling it towards an opening, followed by a grumbling noise of satisfaction.

“The time has arrived.”

I made my way into a geoidal room. A wooden outcrop was surrounded by a familiar forest, except in a vibrant, multichromatic amalgam encompassing the animate creatures.

Then, I admired the flickering herds of diamond – blue stardust stretching across the carapace of the universe. Joy seemed to frolick about like a young child, enjoying existence.

That was until I gazed upon a sphere of dread. It seemed as though a million voices were screaming out at me. The paleness could make hell freeze over – literally. Aeons of pain had vanquished every last inkling of warmth. A horrendous texture made grotesque by the infinite expanse of icy needles.

Little did I know of what was to follow. A shrill noise occured in short, sharp bursts, literally piercing through my metal plating. In an instant, I found the perennial forest replaced by a graveyard. Seeking to end the suffering, I dug into the wooden outgrowth. The pain had no effect.

A cratered rock was revealed. It glowed red with a brilliance enough to outshine the sun. However, I knew of the deed required to prevent a catastrophe. Without a second thought, I released the molten boulder from its cage, releasing a blinding outburst; followed by darkness.

I found myself careening towards the once-frozen wasteland – except I was presented with an expanse of green. I looked back at the destruction I had left behind. The vessel was shattered. A voice boomed in my ears:

“The android has saved us all”

I knew things would be different from now on.
